[Prior notice]
The decision to move from Lisbon to Arruda dos Vinhos was, from the outset, a gesture of search: for space, light and time.
O esquiço reveals this ambition – a house precisely implanted on a generous plot, which opens up to the landscape without ever exposing itself.
Three floors, three times of dwelling: one of arrival, one of recollection, and one of full living.
Design for living
Architecture that breathes space and light
With approximately 385m², the house is clearly distributed over three floors.
The social part of the house is organized on the entrance level. The fluid circulation designs a floor plan that responds to a way of life, not a pattern.
Natural light runs through the spaces, enhancing the materials and the architecture thought out in detail.
Each room has been designed to provide comfort, functionality and harmonious living.
Elegance in form
Matter, light and landscape in balance
The entire house is surrounded by travertine stone, which reinforces the horizontality of the volumes and their relationship with the land.
The materials were chosen for their durability, but also for their ability to last over time.
The large glazed surfaces guarantee a transition between interior and exterior – where the boundary is only suggested by shadows, textures .
The structure is contained, almost silent – it is where it is needed, and disappears where it is not.

Private areas – functionality, proportion and materiality
The private area occupies the upper floor and has been organized based on criteria of functionality and comfort. The master bedroom takes on a larger scale, allowing for the inclusion of a sitting area overlooking the garden. The closet, as an open and continuous space, integrates the circulation between the bedroom and the bathroom, without doors or compartments, favoring the fluidity of routes.
In the coverings, the choice of materials that define the environment: natural wood floors, white marble worktops and Verde Alpi marble walls. The use of hammered glass in the shower areas ensures privacy without compromising the entry of natural light. The material language is cohesive, without excess, and responds to the logic of the villa’s concept
