Founded in 2016, Martina Architecture is an architecture and interior design practice working across Portugal and internationally. The studio approaches every commission as a close collaboration, combining careful observation, technical precision and a deep understanding of how people live. From the first sketch to the finished space, each decision is shaped by context, proportion, material and light.
Martina Pires Cristóvão
Founder and architect
Martina Pires Cristóvão is an architect registered with the Portuguese Order of Architects, holding a Master’s degree from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto and the Barcelona School of Architecture. Her work is informed by experience developed between Portugal and Spain and by an enduring interest in the relationship between architecture, place and everyday life. She leads each project personally, ensuring continuity from concept and planning through construction and completion.
Every project begins with listening, drawing and understanding the particular conditions of a place
We begin by reading the site, its history, climate and surroundings, allowing each project to belong naturally to its place
Design, technical development and coordination with specialists are treated as one continuous process, with clarity at every stage
Every space is shaped around the routines, needs and aspirations of those who will inhabit and experience it
