This two-family house was designed to be the future home of two brothers at the start of their professional careers, providing a balanced environment between the public and the private.

With the aim of being a home, it is also intended to be a space for living and interaction, carefully reflecting the needs, preferences and aspirations of its inhabitants.

Integration into the Loureirolandscape

Located in Oliveira de Azeméis, the parish of Loureiro is a naturally inspiring setting. This region offers a peaceful environment, perfect for integrating any type of outdoor intervention. It thus provides the basis for creating outdoor living and dining spaces conducive to sharing.

With a wooden platform that develops in the most protected part of the house, we believe that there is no need to rigidly separate the two fires, but rather to create moments of union.

Unique Features

  • the house is designed over a pre-existing and previously uninhabitable ruin.
  • The waters of the original roof are kept as vestiges of the ruin.
  • The remaining walls are integrated and extended to form the mezzanine.
  • This adds an element of continuity and history to the new architectural project.
